Make the Most of Every Spin – Tips for Getting the Most Out of Class!

Whether you’re a total beginner or a longtime pole enthusiast, we all want to get the most out of the time and energy we put into our classes. Here are some tried-and-true ways to maximize your progress, boost your confidence, and enjoy the journey even more:

1. Show Up Prepared
Before class, make sure you’re hydrated, have eaten something light, and give yourself enough time to arrive and settle in. Those few extra minutes before class can be used to stretch, review previous combos, or simply get into the right mindset. Feeling mentally and physically prepared helps you stay focused and confident throughout your session.

2. Stay Consistent
Consistency is key when it comes to building strength, flexibility, and muscle memory. Try to attend at least one to two classes each week to maintain progress and keep your body in the rhythm of learning. The more regularly you show up, the more comfortable you’ll feel with your movement and technique—and the faster you’ll improve!

3. Ask Questions
Don’t be afraid to speak up! Your instructors are here to support your learning, and they love when students are curious and engaged. If something doesn’t feel right or you’re unsure about a technique, ask for clarification or an alternative. It’s better to get guidance early than to build habits that might be harder to correct later.

4. Record Your Progress
When permitted, take videos of your combos and tricks. Watching your own movement can be eye-opening—you’ll catch things you didn’t notice in the moment and see how your form and style evolve over time. Plus, progress videos are a great confidence booster and a fun way to track your pole journey!

5. Listen to Your Body
Pole is demanding—physically and mentally. While it’s good to challenge yourself, it’s equally important to know when to rest or modify. If a move doesn’t feel right or if you’re nursing an injury, always speak up. Your instructors are trained to help you adapt while staying safe and supported.

6. Set Small, Achievable Goals
It’s easy to focus on mastering the big tricks, but real progress often comes from setting smaller goals along the way. Whether it’s improving grip strength, mastering a clean spin, or holding a pose for a few extra seconds—those little wins build the foundation for the bigger milestones.

7. Embrace the Journey
Progress in pole dance is rarely linear. There will be days you feel unstoppable and others where everything feels off—and that’s okay! Be patient with yourself, celebrate the small victories, and enjoy the process of learning, growing, and moving in your own unique way.

Most importantly… HAVE FUN!
This is your time to move, express yourself, and build something amazing—both on and off the pole. The studio is your safe space to explore, experiment, and let your confidence shine.

We can’t wait to see you in class!
