Frequently Asked Questions
Aerial Fifty Two is an inclusive space for all people to participate and feel included. We do not discriminate by gender, sexuality, ethnicity, job, religion, politics etc. All are welcome as long as hate and violence do not come into the studio. No form of bullying (ie. Online or in studio) will be tolerated. Private lessons are also available for those who would prefer to train in a discrete, one-on-one setting. Please contact us for more information on private training.
How do I sign up for classes?
If you have not already done so, please create a profile on our website or via the MindBody mobile app. Upon purchase of a membership you will be able to sign up for classes. Clients must pre-register for classes to reserve their spot and registration opens 4 days in advance. Clients with a Groupon voucher must also create a profile on our website and send the PDF version of the Groupon voucher to info@aerialfiftytwo.com so that the credits can be added to the account created.
PLEASE NOTE: There is absolutely no admittance to class 5 minutes after start time.If you are more than 5 minutes late to class, we reserve the right to give your spot to another student as you have now missed half of the class warm up. All first time clients must arrive 15 minutes before the class start time to sign the waiver and disclosures.
What does “Add to Waitlist” mean?
This is an indication that the particular class is full. You can sign up to be on the wait list, as sometimes people will opt out early from classes making room for those on the wait list. When a student opts out of the class you will receive an automatic email letting you know you have been moved from the wait list into class. Late cancel and no show policies still apply. If you purchase a Single Class in order to reserve your spot on a Waitlist and are then not added into the class, the single class will NOT be refunded onto your method of payment but rather it will be applied to your MindBody account for you to use to sign up for a class at Aerial Fifty Two at a later date (within 3 months of the purchase date).
What if I need to cancel a class reservation?
You may opt out of a class up to 12 hours before start time. If you do not cancel your class online at least 12 hours before the class start time, you will be charged the $10 late cancel fee. If you do not show up to a class in which you pre-registered, you will be charged the $20 no-show fee.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept email or phone calls as forms of cancellations.
What do I wear to class?
Fitted workout clothing allowing for freedom of movement are recommended. Shorts are suggested for all pole classes as you will need bare skin along the knees, shins, and upper thighs to grip the pole although leggings can also be worn. Refer to the class descriptions for specific attire recommendations. Please do not apply oil-based lotions before class as this will make the pole and floor slippery and be prepared to remove rings, bracelets, and watches prior to the start of class.
I’m brand new to pole dancing/aerial hoop (lyra)/silk hammock and have not been very active lately. Can I participate in these classes? Where would I even start?
Most of our classes are made for all fitness levels and are designed to help clients gain strength and body awareness. We recommend consulting your physician before starting a new fitness program if you are unsure. Clients who are brand new to pole dancing should start with an Intro to Pole class to learn the fundamental movements required to progress in this sport. Contact us if you are interested in trying another aerial apparatus and are wondering where to start.
I’ve taken classes at another studio, do I have to start with intro level classes?
Thank you for choosing Aerial Fifty Two! Give us a call to schedule an assessment with a Dance Captain. One of our instructors will go through various movements and exercises on the pole, aerial hoop (lyra), or silk hammock with you in order to place you into the appropriate class(es).
Is there an age requirement to take your classes?
Clients must be the age of majority in Ontario (18 years of age) or older. Parental consent is required for those younger than the age of 18.
Do you offer refunds?
Purchases made online or in studio are not eligible for refund and all purchases are also non-transferable.
